Watertown - Mrs. Eleanor M. (MacDonald) Andrews, of Watertown, died Tuesday, February 10, 2015 in the deRham Hospice House in Cambridge. She was 88.
Eleanor was born in Boston on October 3, 1926, a daughter of the late Colin and Gertrude (McDougall) MacDonald. She was a member of the Sons of Italy in Watertown and a parishioner at Saint Luke's Church in Belmont. She enjoyed bingo, traveling to Prince Edward Island, Canada, and reading. But most of all Eleanor loved being with her family.
The wife of the late Louis P. Andrews, she leaves her children, Louis P. Andrews and his wife, Theresa, of Waltham, Stephen J. Andrews of Woburn, Janice T. Burke and her husband, Thomas, Cheryl M. Banks and her husband, Thomas, and Edward C. Andrews and his wife, Eileen, all of Waltham; her grandchildren, Christopher Andrews, Darlene Flynn, Cindy Metro, Stephen Andrews, Maria Kenney, Thomas Burke, Kevin Burke, Shawn Burke, Michael Banks, Matthew Banks, and Samantha Andrews; her great grandchildren, Alexandra Francis, Edward Francis, Domenic Metro and Derek Metro; her sister, Edna Ducey of Brockton and many nieces and nephews.
Eleanor was also a sister of the late Raymond MacDonald, Edward MacDonald, and Joseph MacDonald.
Family and friends will honor and remember Eleanor's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, February 16th, from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Luke's Church, 132 Lexington Street, Belmont where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown.
