Framingham – Mrs. Eleanor M. (Abruzzi) Piantedosi, of Framingham, formerly of Watertown, died Monday, March 9, 2015 at the Carlyle House in Framingham. She was 93.
Eleanor was born in Waltham on June 5, 1921, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Corbelli) Abruzzi. Three years after her 1948 marriage to Anthony F. Piantedosi the couple moved to Watertown where they made their home and raised their family. They have been residents of Framingham for the past four years.
In addition to her husband of sixty-seven years, Anthony, she leaves her children, Joseph R. Piantedosi and his wife, Catherine, of Framingham and Judith A. MacKenzie and her husband, Kenneth, of Marlborough; her grandchildren, Jeffrey and Robert Piantedosi and Kenneth and Douglas MacKenzie; six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Eleanor was also the sister of the late Rocco "Rocky" Abruzzi, Sylvia Ferraro, Libra Close, Edith Conte, Hilda Abrahamian and Barbara McKay.
Family and friends will honor and remember Eleanor's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, March 15th from 2 to 5 p.m. and again at 10 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
