Waltham - Mrs. Eleanore M. (White) Brown, of Waltham, died Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Concord Healthcare Center. She was 92.
Eleanore was born in Waltham on January 3, 1918, a daughter of the late Arthur J. and Mary (Stankard) White. She was raised in Boston and was a graduate of Mount Saint Joseph Academy in Brighton. Eleanore moved back to Waltham more than fifty years ago where she was a longtime member of Saint Jude’s Parish. Until her retirement she worked for many years as a sales clerk at Parke Snow’s and at Grover Cronin’s department stores on Moody Street in Waltham.
The wife of the late Thomas H. Brown, she leaves her daughters, Janet M. Moroney and her husband, Thomas, of Stow and Suzanne Keough and her husband, Thomas, of Waltham; her grandchildren, Christine Monahan, Mark Moroney, Bridget Power, Caitlin Medernach and Matthew Keough and her great-grandchildren, Sarah and Derek Monahan, Liam and Adam Moroney and Amelia Power.
Family and friends will honor and remember Eleanore’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Route 20), Waltham on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
