Eleanore Robbins

June 1, 1929 — April 15, 2014

Mrs. Eleanore (Hoogheem) Robbins, of Waltham, passed away at home on April 15, 2014. She was 84.

Eleanore was born in Forest Park, Illinois, on June 1, 1929, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Bieler and sister of the late Helen Bieler. She worked as an English teacher and drama coach in Concord-Carlisle High School for 35 years, retiring in 1992. She was a faithful member of Lutheran Church of the Newtons.

She was the wife of the late Irving Robbins, grandmother of Norman and Shannon Dandridge, and aunt of Penny and Sam Lubben. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Cole and Ayla Dandridge, her step-daughter April Robbins and her wife Sharon Dandridge, and a host of good friends and care-givers who will miss her dearly.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 26, at 3:00 p.m. at The Lutheran Church of the Newtons, 1310 Centre Street, Newton, Massachusetts 02459. There will be a reception at the church following the service. During this time friends will be invited to bring their remembrances of Eleanore. Memorial donations may be made to Lutheran Church of the Newtons.
