Elizabeth J. Barber

Waltham - Mrs. Elizabeth J. (Arnone) Barber, of Waltham, died Wednesday, July 29, 2009 in Belmont Manor Nursing Home. She was 91. Born in Boston on January 16, 1918, Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Peter and Theresa Arnone. She had lived in Waltham since 1953. Elizabeth was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the PFC John M. Sullivan, USMC VFW Post #10334 in Waltham. She was the wife of the late Charles M. Barber, Sr. and leaves her son, Charles M. Barber, Jr. and his wife, Jane, of Waltham; her grandson, Christopher C. Barber; her great-grandchild, Hailey Barber and many nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was the sister of James Arnone, Josephine Comperchio, Nikki Paolino, Mary Gabriel and Diane Robinson. Family and friends will honor and remember Elizabeth's life by gathering for calling hours at The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
