Waltham – Mrs. Elizabeth A. "Betty" (Loughlin) Boudrot, of Waltham, died Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis. She was 85.
Betty was born in Waltham on February 17, 1930, a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Fahey) Loughlin. She was raised in Brighton where she lived until her marriage to Newton native Albert J. Boudrot on August 20, 1949. She was a graduate of Saint Patrick's High School in Watertown.
The couple soon moved to Waltham where they raised their family and enjoyed fifty-one happy years until Al's death in 2000. Until her retirement Betty worked for the Massachusetts Department of Social Services.
She delighted in caring for her home and yard and was a long time member of the local chapter of the Red Hat Society. For years Betty volunteered at Metropolitan State Hospital and could be found there every Sunday assisting patients attending church services.
As the matriarch of the family Betty cherished her role as a proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She shared in her family's joys and their heartaches, so recently experiencing her own when her son Richard J. "Dickie" Boudrot died on the fourth of May. She joins him in heaven along with her husband, great-grandson, Michael Cusano and her only sister, Claire Loughlin.
Betty leaves her children, Robert C. Boudrot of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Thomas E. Boudrot of Palm Springs, California, Jacqueline A. Cusano of Raymond, New Hampshire, Michelle E. Boudrot of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Denise E. Barnes of Salem and William J. Boudrot of Billerica; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Betty's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, July 5th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 10 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Watertown.
