Mrs. Elizabeth E. 'Betty' (Martell) Caminiti, of Waltham, died Friday, February 8, 2008 in Saint Elizabeth Hospital, Brighton. She was 92. Her husband, Charles A. Caminiti died June 23, 1966. She leaves two children, Charles A. Caminiti and his wife, Marcia, with whom she lived and Elizabeth J. Straley and her husband, Richard, of Hull; two grandchildren, Cara Dahlke and her husband, Keith, of South Hadley and Paul Caminiti of Waltham; a sister, Eunice Casabona of Bayville, New Jersey. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her siblings, George 'Buddy' and Richard Martell, Annabelle Flammia, Hazel Crimmins and Phyllis Ritchie. She was born March 23, 1915 in Lowell a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Donnelly) Martell and graduated from Somerville High School. Betty and her late husband owned and operated Cam's Auto School in Waltham. The company was established in 1951 and she assumed full responsibility of the company at the death of her husband in 1966. 'Mrs. Cam' as she was commonly referred was the first woman driving school instructor in the City of Waltham. She retired in 1986 when the company was sold. She was a member of Saint Julia Church in Weston, the Waltham Chamber of Commerce and the Ladies Sodality at Saint Jude Church in Waltham. Betty was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling and animals, especially her cats. Obvious was her enthusiasm and love of driving she did not stop driving until eight years ago. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 9 a.m. Friday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in The Church of Saint Julia, 374 Boston Post Road, Weston at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Thursday 4 - 8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Needham.
