Elizabeth M. "Betty" (McGann) Dion

Waltham – Mrs. Elizabeth M. "Betty" (McGann) Dion, of Waltham, died Monday, January 19, 2015 in Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 92.

Betty was born in Waltham on November 27, 1922, a daughter of the late Martin F. and Mary Ellen (Burke) McGann, and had been a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Saint Charles High School and until her retirement worked for the Federal Records Center in Waltham.

The wife of the late Richard R. Dion, she leaves her children, Jeanne M. Caliguri of Plymouth, Patricia E. Dion, Nancy A. Dion, and Kathleen A. Dion all of Waltham; her grandchildren, Lauren Hobart, Lynne O'Brian, Derek Caliguri, Mark Quatromini, Craig Quatromini, Colleen Quatromini, Nicole Quatromini, and Kevin Quatomini; her great grandchildren, Cody Hobart, Kailey Hobart, Quinn O'Brian, Keegan O'Brian, Hailey Quatromini, Cody March, and Brady Quatromini and many nieces and nephews.

Betty was also the mother of the late Elizabeth M. "Beth" Quatromini; grandmother of the late Alphonse Quatromini and a the sister of the late John McGann, Benedict McGann, Francis McGann and Catherine Frechette.

Family and friends will honor and remember Betty's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, January 2 3rd from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
