Burbank, Calif. - Mrs. Elizabeth Hope (Dusel) McAloon, of Burbank, died Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at Windsor Gardens Healthcare Center in North Hollywood. She was 75. Hope was born in Orange, New Jersey on August 31, 1933, a daughter of the late William and Emily (Barraro) Dusel and moved to Burbank in the early 1980's. She had worked for the past twenty-six years for the City of Burbank, the past 19 at the Burbank Recycle Center. She graduated from college in Ohio with a bachelor's degree in business administration. Before going to work in Burbank she worked as an associate editor at McGraw-Hill Publishing Company in New York City. Last month, the Burbank City Council passed a resolution to rename the Burbank Recycle Center Adminstration Building to the 'Hope Sustainability Center' for her dedication to her work where "she had become the face, voice and spirit" of the center. The wife of the late Arthur L. McAloon, Jr., she leaves her children, Kerry and Gino McAloon; her sisters-in-law, Kathleen Hallee of Walpole and Nancy McInerney of East Dennis and her brother-in-law, Brendan McAloon of Key West, Florida. A memorial service was held in Burbank and committal services were held at Saint Patrick's Cemetery in Lowell.
