Mrs. Elizabeth Mary (Buckley) Redden passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 in Epoch Senior Healthcare in Weston. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends in her final days, as she was throughout her life. Born in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, Mrs. Redden came to Newton then Waltham as a young child, living in Waltham for much of her ninety-six years. She will be remembered fondly as a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother, sister aunt, and friend. Her children and grandchildren were always the focal points of her life, and she loved each one dearly. Loving her family was the most important part of her life. Her loved ones will always remember her giving nature and generous hospitality as well as her outstanding cooking. Along with committing herself to the task of raising her family, she was employed in local bakeries in Waltham and in the catering business. Mrs. Redden is survived by her children, Mary Redden Eccles of Waltham and Robert Francis Redden of Hudson; a sister, Alice Cameron of Dennis, nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Hugh Edward Redden and the sister of the late Emma Howard, Helen Ryan, Olive Rankin, Agnes McAleer, Catherine Paul, and Hugh Buckley. At Mrs. Redden's request, there will be no services. In accordance with her wishes, her cremated remains will be scattered at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Activities Department at Epoch Senior Healthcare, 75 Norumbega Road, Weston, MA 02493.
