Waltham – Mrs. Ellen P. 'Pat' Kilmain, of Waltham, died on Tuesday January 21, 2014 at Golden Living in Lexington. She was 81.
Pat was born in Waltham on July 16, 1932, a daughter of the late Melvin and Lorraine (Bonin) Weagle. As a young woman she had worked as a theater performer in Boston and graduated from St. Vincent's Hospital School of Nursing in 1954. She then went to work at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Waltham Hospital and was the director of the Dr. C. Benjamin Fuller Infirmary in Waltham for a number of years.
She was a caring and protective mother and wife and doted on her boys. The family loved to go camping to Hampton Beach and spend their summer vacations in Rockport.
She was the beloved wife of the late Albert B. Kilmain and is survived by her children, David A. Kilmain and his wife, Moira, of Woburn, Richard A. Kilmain and his longtime companion, Therese Pilkinton, of E. Falmouth and Christopher C. Kilmain and his wife, Gina, of Florida; her grandchildren, Celia, Rose, Matthew, and Connor Kilmain; her siblings, Melvin Weagle, Jr. of Georgia and Suzanne Guy and her husband, David, of Harvard and many nieces and nephews.
Pat was also a sister of the late Donald Weagle.
Family and friends will honor and remember Pat's life by gathering to visit at 9 a.m. on Monday morning, January 27, in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham where her Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Saint Mary's Cemetery, Needham.
