Emily P. Haigh

September 2, 1925 — November 21, 2018

Perhaps Emily Haigh knew that life is just like painting. She drew the lines with hope, erased the errors with tolerance, dipped her brush with lots of patience and colored everything with love.

Emily died at Oxford Rehabilitation Facility in Haverhill on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. She was 93.

Born on September 2, 1925 in Detroit Michigan she was a daughter of the late Paul L. and M. Florida (Godin) Hachey. She is widowed by her first husband, Joseph W. Deneault and her second husband, Robert Haigh. A longtime Waltham resident she later lived over 20 years in Northborough and many years in New Hampshire.

Aside from her work as an inspector for Gen Rad Corporation, Sylvania and Raytheon she enjoyed being a home maker and the many dogs that were part of her family fabric. She was known for her wonderful baking skills with her signature apple and lemon meringue pies.

She loved art and practiced in every form from oil painting to watercolors, sculptures and doll making. She had an eye for photography and as a result was the family photographer for all events in addition to her nature and landscape photos.

In addition to her husbands she is predeceased by her grandson, William Perry and siblings Rita Hicks and Russell Hachey.

She leaves her children, Patricia L. Deneault (William Longmaid) of Londonderry, New Hampshire and Robert J. Deneault (MaryAnn) of Framingham; her grandchildren, Kimberly Vogel, Daniel Perry, Nathan Perry, Philip Deneault (Kathleen) and Michael Deneault (Jen); her great-grandchildren, Astrid, Shayna, Sebastian, Noah, Cole and Emma; a sister, Beverly Blanchard of Biddeford, Maine; nieces & nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Emily's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, November 30th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday morning when her funeral service will be held at 12 Noon. Burial in Maplewood Cemetery, Marlborough is private.
