Mrs. Emma (Allain) Richard, Of Framingham, formally of Waltham, passed away at Saint Patrick's Manor on Monday, October 10, 2022. She was 102.
Emma was born in St. Antoine, New Brunswick, Canada on May 2, 1920, the daughter of the late Frank and Sylvie (Goguen) Allain. She was raised and educated in Canada before moving to the United States.
She and her late husband, Neri Richard, made Waltham their home in 1963. Emma worked as an 8x10 negative machine operator for Polaroid for 15 years until her retirement in 1985 and she faithfully attended the former Saint Joseph's Church and Saint Charles Borromeo Church in her adopted home of Waltham. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed knitting in her free time.
She leaves her children, Romeo Richard and his wife, Val, of Natick, Armand Richard and his wife, Debbie, of Greenville, North Carolina, Norma Cormier of Pepperell, and Maria Goguen of Pepperell; ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Emma was predeceased by her husband Neri Richard, her siblings, Jean-Baptiste, Edward, and Henry Allain, Regina LeBlanc, Madeleine Gauvin and Olympe Landry; and was the mother-in-law of the late Sherry Richard, Raymond Cormier and Al Goguen.
Family and friends will honor and remember Emma's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, October 16th from 1 to 4 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Monday morning, October 17th before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School St, Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
