Framingham – Mrs. Esther J. (Venini) Barber, of Framingham, formerly of Waltham and Florida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 13th surrounded by her loving family. She was 98.
Esther was born in Waltham on June 4, 1918, the daughter of S. John and Marina (Alberti) Venini. She raised her family in Waltham and then she and her late husband, Albert, moved to Florida for over twenty years before settling on the Cape in 2011. In her spare time she loved to play Bridge and golf with her friends. She even made 'a hole in one' at Citrus Hills Country Club on the 11th hole in 1995. She was devoted to her faith and nothing was more precious to her than her family.
She was the beloved wife of the late Albert Barber who died in 2003 and is survived by her children, Peter Barber and his wife, Beverly, of Marlboro, David Barber and his wife, Sharon, of Citrus Hills, Florida, Judith Hunt and her husband, Joseph, of S. Yarmouth, Alfred Barber and his wife, Nancy, of Citrus Hills, Florida, Robert Barber of Milton, Steven Barber and his wife, Marilyn, of Millis, Mary Wells and her husband, John, of Portland, Oregon, Susan Carestia and her fiancé, Arthur Lage, of Marshfield and Paul Barber and his wife, Susan, of Ortonville, Michigan. Also survived by 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Carole Stolzenbach and sister of the late Alfred, Joseph, Louis and Mario Venini and Helen Harbberts.
Family and friends will honor and remember Esther's life by gathering to visit at 9 a.m. on Friday, August 19th in St. Patrick's Manor Chapel, Framingham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
