Esther L. Clarke

Waltham – Mrs. Esther (Lundquist) Clarke, of Waltham, died Friday, May 6, 2011 at Maristhill Nursing Home in Waltham. She was 93.
Esther was born in Boston on April 8, 1918, a daughter of the late Carl H. and Emma S. (Oberg) Lundquist, and had been a lifelong resident of Waltham. She graduated from Waltham High School in 1936. Until her retirement Esther worked for many years at Weston Pharmacy and had been a lifelong member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waltham.
The wife of the late Edmund E. Clarke, she leaves her children, Rodney D. Clarke and his wife, Suzanne, of Mattapoisett, Donald E. Clarke and his wife, Tricia, of Edina, Minnesota, D. Scott Clarke of Waltham and Beverly C. Gurian and her husband, Michael, of Denver, Colorado; and her grandchildren, Kristen Gurian and Stephen Gurian and his wife, Sara.
Esther was also the mother of the late Stephen E. Clarke.
Family and friends will honor and remember Esther’s life at a memorial service on Monday, May 9th, at 10 a.m. in First Evangelical Lutheran Church, cor. of Weston and Eddy Sts. Waltham.
