Esther Grieci

Waltham - Mrs. Esther M. (Angelini) Grieci, of Waltham, died at home on Sunday, October 2, 2016 with her family gathered by her side. She was 82.

Esther was born April 1, 1934 in Leominster, a daughter of the late Italian immigrants Armando and Estherina (Piccolomini) Angelini. Raised and educated in Leominster she was a graduate of Leominster High School. She married Ronald Grieci on October 5, 1957 in Saint Anne's Church and shortly thereafter they moved to Waltham where they raised and educated their four children.

She worked in banking for many years beginning at the former Newton-Waltham Bank and later for BayBank, retiring in 1996.

True to her Italian heritage she was a fantastic cook and an avid sports enthusiast.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Domenic 'Bucky' Angelini, Pierino 'Pete' Angelini, Paul Angelini, Eva DiMauro and Mary Valera.

In addition to her husband of nearly 60 years, Ronald, she leaves their children, John D. Greici and his fiancé, Wendy Boumochok, of Corona, California, Deborah G. Ogden and her husband, Richard, of Cohasset, Anne M. Hatch and her husband, David, of Hudson and Patricia A. Mahoney and her husband, James, of Billerica; her sister, Antoinette 'Toni' Mastrogiovanni and her husand, Angelo of Auburn; her grandchildren, Emily and Matthew Grieci, Christopher, Andrew and Joshua Hatch, Erynn, Jamie and Jimmy Mahoney; her great-grandchild, Lorenzo and many nieces & nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Esther's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, October 5th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be on Friday, October 7th in St. Leo's Cemetery in Leominster at 11 a.m.
