Esther E. Witham

Waltham – Mrs. Esther E. (Sampson) Witham of Waltham died Sunday, March 12, 2006 at Maristhill Nursing Home. She was 92. Born in Newton, a daughter of the late Alexander and Minnie (Fraser) Sampson, she lived in Waltham for more than seventy years. Esther was a homemaker and for many years participated in the weekly dances at the French-American Victory Club in Waltham. The wife of the late Oscar E. Witham, she leaves her children, Melvin E. Witham of Saugus, Carl F. Witham of Waltham and Barbara E. Lauricella of Boca Raton, Florida; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late John Witham. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 10 a.m. Tuesday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel of Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours are Monday evening from 6 to 9 p.m.
