Lexington - Ethel Clifford Garrett, of Lexington, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 5, 2014 at age 93.
She was born in Boston, on March 19, 1921, a daughter of the late George Clifford Sr. and Ethel M. (Hickey) Clifford. Mrs. Garrett was a graduate of Belmont High School and Stoneleigh College. She was married on May 24, 1946 to the late Harry Leigh Garrett for 16 years.
An active member of the Democrat Party, Mrs. Garrett was employed at Peter Grimes Travel in Lexington from 1964 to 1972. She went on to found Lincoln Travel Services in Lincoln providing her passion for travel until she retired in 1988.
Known to all as "Cliffie", she is survived by her brother, George Clifford Jr. of Aiken, South Carolina and her three children, Jeffrey Garrett of Yarmouth, Bruce Garrett of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Joan Garrett of Pt. Richmond, California. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Jennifer Grant, Corey Garrett, Elizabeth Garrett Robbins, Jared Garrett, and Emma Garrett.
A graveside service was held on Friday, August 8, 2014 in Belmont Cemetery.
