Ethel T. Sammarco

Waltham- Mrs. Ethel T. (Palumbo) Sammarco of Waltham died Friday March 5, 2004 at Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital, Boston. She was 84. Born and raised in Waltham, a daughter of the late Pasquale and Maria (Ciceri) Palumbo, Mrs. Sammarco was an inspector for the Raytheon Corporation for thirty-five years before his retirement in 1986. Mrs. Sammarco was a member of the Waltham Golden Age Club and she enjoyed dancing every Thursday at the Emerson School in Newton. Mrs. Sammarco was the wife of the late Anthony M. Sammarco, Sr., and a sister of the late Anthony, Joseph and Rose Palumbo and Sue DiGregorio. She is survived by one son, Anthony M. Sammarco, Jr.of Boston; two brothers, Nicholas Palumbo of Weston and Paul Palumbo of Dennis; one sister, Esther Blanchard of Belmont and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours are Monday 4 to 7 p.m.
