Randolph – Ms. Eugenia M. "Genia" Lenz, of Randolph, died Saturday, July 28, 2018 in her home. She was 61.
Genia was born in Hoboken, New Jersey on June 4, 1957, a daughter of the late Eugene K. Lenz and Marie (Carmelengo) Lenz Michau. After graduating from Point Pleasant Borough High School she earned her bachelor's degree at Providence College.
She worked for years as a laboratory supervisor, most recently at Newton-Wellesley Hospital and before that at SmithKline Beecham and at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital.
Genia was a member of First Parish Church of Stow and Acton. She enjoyed following the Boston Red Sox and music but above all, she loved her daughter Melanie with all her heart. Special moments with her family and friends included going to James Taylor concerts with her sister, Linda.
She leaves her daughter, Melanie Lenz Rotchford of Randolph; her brother, Thomas P. Lenz of Lakehurst, New Jersey; her sister, Linda L. Lenz of Brewster and her spouse, Patricia Jeziorski of Brewster; her niece, Stacey Lenz Tamburo and her spouse, Edward; her nephew, Brian Lenz and his spouse, Hannah; her former sister-in-law, Janice Lenz and many wonderful co-workers and friends.
Family and friends will honor and remember Genia's life by gathering for calling hours on Wednesday, August 1st from 4 to 8 p.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham where her funeral service will be held at 8 p.m.
