Lexington Mrs. Eva M. (Borrner) Hardy, of Lexington, died Saturday, December 16, 2006 at Brookhaven at Lexington. She was 91. She was the wife of the late Irad B. Hardy, Jr., M.D. who died in January, 1993. Born in Springfield on March 31, 1915, Eva was a daughter of the late Carl and Elsie (Sundin) Borrner. She lived in Waltham for sixty years before moving to Lexington more than twenty years ago. She was a graduate of Springfield Technical High School (1933) and Massachusetts General Hospital Training School for Nurses (1936) in Boston where she worked as a registered nurse and served as Head Nurse of Ward 16. She was a longtime volunteer with the Waltham Hospital Associates where her late husband had been a physician for many years. Eva had also been a member of the Piety Corner Club in Waltham and a former member of the board of directors of the Waltham Visiting Nurses Association and the Waltham Boys & Girls Club. She was also active in the League of Women Voters She leaves her children, Irad B. Terry Hardy, III and his wife, Jean, of Stratford, Connecticut, Peter C. Hardy and his wife, Judith, of Waltham, Stephen H. Hardy and his wife, Donna, of Durham, New Hampshire and Erland B. Hardy of Lake Placid, New York; her grandchildren, Christopher Hardy, Sarah Kudrikow, Benjamin and Nathan Hardy; a great-grandchild, Jayden True Kudrikow and two nephews. Eva was also the grandmother of the late Joshua Hardy and sister of the late Brita Moody. A Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, December 30, 2006 in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 2 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Brookhaven at Lexington, Employee Scholarship Fund, 1010 Waltham Street, Lexington, MA 02421.
