Lissy and Evan Rau loved their daughter Evalyn right up to the moon and back and beyond! Their immeasurable bundle of love and joy was born on September 20, 2019. She died unexpectedly at home on Monday, February 10, 2020. She was four months old.
During her four months, Evie touched many lives and was loved so deeply. Her facial expressions, great little laugh and wonderful smile would light up a room. She experienced an entire childhood of mommy kisses and daddy snuggles in her short twenty weeks. Their first born and only child was their absolute delight.
Evalyn was absolutely adored and will be so very much missed by her parents Evan M. and Melissa A.'Lissy' (Burke) Rau; her grandparents, Charles W. and Sheree D. (DeCoste) Rau of Norfolk and Richard B. and Mary E. (Brown) Burke of Waltham; her loving aunts and uncles, Madison and J.D. Wolfsberg of Roslindale, Emileigh Rau and Noah James Rau, both of Norfolk, Rick and Kristyn Burke of Waltham, Natalie and Matt Landry of New York, New York and Matt and Hilary Burke of Waltham; much loved cousin to Brynn, Shea, Noah, Aquinnah, Caleb and Olivia; her great-grandmother Anne (Connelly) Catino of Dedham.
Family and friends will honor and remember Evalyn's life by gathering for calling hours on Friday, February 14th from 4 to 8 pm in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 15th in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Belmont Cemetery, Belmont.
