Eveline M. Aucoin

Waltham – Mrs. Eveline M. (Daigle) Aucoin, of Waltham, died on Saturday January 5th, 2013 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Brighton surrounded by her family. She was 83.

Eveline was born in Waltham on April 24, 1929, a daughter of the late Maxime B. and Yvonne (Vautour) Daigle. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in Waltham and had worked as a keypunch operator at Grover Cronin's of Waltham and also worked at Staples, Inc., in Waltham, respectively for over 20 years at each company.

Eveline enjoyed needlepoint and playing cards with family and friends, traveling to Canada and taking cruises to any destination. She loved to get her hair 'done' on Friday's and having her nails manicured. She was a lifelong member of Saint Joseph's Parish in Waltham and was very active in all facets of the parish. She was a member of the French American Victory Club and was also a past president of the Women's Auxiliary to the French Club.

She was the beloved wife for sixty years to the late Joseph E. 'Ernie' Aucoin who died in 2010. Together Ernie and Eveline worked at the Staples Office Supply Store on Lexington Street in Waltham. The store was dedicated to Ernie and Eveline on September 26, 2003 in recognition of their long and loyal service and dedication.

She leaves her children, Paul J. Aucoin and his wife, Vedna, of Waltham, Edmond F. Aucoin and his wife, Stella, of Marlborough; her granddaughter Stephanie Lynn Aucoin of Manchester, New Hampshire; her siblings, Doris M. LeBlanc and her husband, Joseph, of Waltham, Rosemarie Pineau and her husband Raymond, of Billerica, Emile Daigle and his wife, Denyse, of Taunton and Paul Daigle of Waltham and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Eveline was the mother of the late Patricia Ann Aucoin; grandmother of the late Christopher Michael Aucoin; sister of the late Edmond Daigle and sister-in-law of the late Lola Daigle and Phyllis Daigle.

Family and friends will honor and remember Eveline's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, January 9th, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9:15 a.m. on Thursday morning before leaving in procession to St. Bernard's Church, 1529 Washington Street, Newton, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
