Evelyn M. Dion

Mrs. Evelyn M. (Richard) Dion of Waltham died Wednesday, November 17, 2004 in Palm Manor Nursing Home, Chelmsford. She was 101. Born in Sunnybrae, N.B. Canada, a daughter of the late Phillias and Patience (Cormier) Richard, Mrs. Dion was a resident of Waltham for more than 80 years and had been a member of the Legion of Mary at Saint Mary’s Church, Waltham for many years. She was the wife of the late George J. Dion, mother of the late Richard J. Dion, Roland J. Dion and Jeanette Swanson, and grandmother of the late David J. Dion and John Robert Swanson Jr. She is survived by two sons, Raymond J. Dion and his wife Marguerite of Chelmsford, Robert J. Dion and his wife Mary of Arizona; one son-in-law, John Robert Swanson; two daughters-in-law, Carol Carpenter and Margaret Dion; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Monday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Mary’s Church, 133 School Street, Waltham at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
