Evelyn R. Duffy

Waltham - Mrs. Evelyn R. (Lally) Duffy of Waltham died Friday, August 13, 2004 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 92. Born in Waltham, a daughter of the late James and Delia (Lynch) Lally, she was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Lally was a registered nurse and had worked for the Waltham Visiting Nurse's Association. She was a 1934 graduate of the Waltham Hospital School of Nursing. The wife of the late Robert F. Duffy, she leaves her children, Sheila A. Bassett of Waltham, Kevin D. Duffy of Punta Gorda, FL and Brian P. Duffy and his wife Sarah of West Newton. She was the sister of the late John and James Lally, Betty Eaton, Edna Volpe and Marion Doherty and was also the grandmother of eight and great-grandmother of thirteen. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services at 7 p.m. Tuesday in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m.
