Mrs. Evelyn E. (Caldaroni) Taddeo of Waltham died Sunday January 2, 2011 in her home. She was 82.
Evelyn was born in Watertown on November 2, 1928, a daughter of the late Antonio and Elizabeth (Russo) Caldaroni, and had lived in Watertown for many years before moving to Waltham in 1996. She was a 1946 graduate of Watertown High School and a 1948 graduate of Bryant & Stratton Business School in Boston. Evelyn was a legal secretary for many years for various law offices. She was a former active member of Saint Jean’s Church in Newton where she was very well known for taking care of the plants and flowers as well as the ironing of the church linens. She also volunteered her time to have phone chats with those who were homebound. Evelyn was an animal lover, enjoyed dancing and took great delight in cooking and baking for her family.
She leaves her husband, Frank D. Taddeo, her son, Stephen F. Taddeo and his wife, Maureen, and her daughter, Lisa E. Taddeo, all of Waltham; her brother, Nello Caldaroni of Watertown and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Val, Anthony, and Carmine Caldaroni, Jennie Arria, and Mary D’Amico.
Family and friends will honor and remember Evelyn’s life by gathering for calling hours on Thursday from 9 a.m.- 10:30 a.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street ( Rte.20), Waltham before going in procession to Saint Mary’s Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Newton Cemetery.
