Mrs. Evelyn D. (Paone) Wade, of Burlington, formerly of Waltham and Watertown native, died at home on Sunday, July 28, 2024. She was 92.
Evelyn was born on April 6, 1932 in Watertown a daughter of the late Italian immigrants Jerry and Catherine (Lapriore) Paone. Raised and educated in Watertown she later married Robert E. Wade on June 2, 1951 in Saint Patrick’s Church in Watertown. Residents of Waltham since marriage they moved to Burlington in 1986 and Robert died on January 30, 2012.
After staying at home to raise her children, she enjoyed working at Scoops & Stuff in Burlington to keep herself busy and in the company of people. Evelyn enjoyed spending time and the holidays with her family and friends. She and her husband enjoyed travelling and taking vacations on cruises.
In addition to being predeceased by her husband, Robert, she was predeceased by her son-in-law, Brian Shaughnessy and her grandson, David Wade; her siblings, Frank Paone, Emidio ‘Army’ Paone and Elmer Paone, Annie Seabold, Joanne Sheehan, Mary Palermo, Nellie Dunton, Esther Lesanto and Theresa Kelley;
She leaves her children, Patrick Farrell of Clifton Park, New York, Robert Wade Jr. (Susan) of Richland, Washington, Douglas Wade (Karyn) of Stoughton, Matthew Wade of Burlington, Donna Wade of Davenport, Florida and Tracey Wade of Burlington; her grandchildren, Marissa Wade, Jenna and Jaxon Wade, John Wade (Casey), Steven Wade, Michael Wade (Elisabeth), Christina Santiago (Marc); her great-grandchildren, Abigail, Cheyanne, Jacquelyn, Harlee, Avery and Mateo; her siblings, Viola Deneault of Waltham and Jerry Paone Jr of Watertown; many nieces & nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Evelyn’s life by gathering on Monday, August 5th in Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. followed by a luncheon at The Chateau, 195 School Street. Burial is private in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington. There are no calling hours.
