Waltham Mr. Everett E. Roe, Sr., of Waltham, died Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at Saint Elizabeth's Medical Center in Brighton. He was 88. Everett was born on May 20, 1920 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and was a son of the late Chester and Florence (Biesecker) Roe. He was a twenty-one year veteran of the United States Air Force where he was trained as a machinist. He served during World War II and the Korean War, retiring in 1963. After that, Everett worked for another twenty years for the Millipore Corporation in Bedford. Always the mechanic, he enjoyed fixing tractors and mowers and he was an avid gardener. Everett was a member of the Joseph F. Hill American Legion Post No. 156 in Waltham and the 486th Bomb Group Association. Everett leaves his wife of sixty years, Carmela M. (Fanala) Roe; one son, Everett E. Roe, Jr. and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Bellingham; one daughter, Enith F. Blodgett of Waltham; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Everett was the brother of the late Gerald Roe and grandfather of the late Michelle Blodgett Family and friends will honor and remember Everett's life by gathering for calling hours at The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 10 a.m. on Friday morning when his funeral service will be held. Burial will follow in Grove Hill Cemetery, Waltham. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
