Waltham – Mrs. Faye L. (Berry) Harvey of Waltham, died Monday, May 23, 2016 at Lasell House in Newton. She was 89.
Faye was born in Waltham on December 1, 1926, the daughter of the late Donald A. and Faye L. (Billings) Berry. She grew up in Waltham and graduated from Waltham High in 1944.
After high school she attended Franklin Technical School in Boston earning her certification as a draftsman and an engineer. As one of the first women to work in the field she was a pioneer and worked for years at Zenith Products in Newton.
She married Leonard W. Harvey at Immanuel Methodist Church in Waltham on September 14, 1946. Throughout their 69 years of marriage they lived by the words in the verses of Genesis 31:49, "Mizpah".
In 1996 Len and Faye were able to relocate to Florida where they spent many happy days on their boat, the 'MS-PA'. In 2013 they returned to Waltham to be closer to family. Faye was also very active in the New England Genealogical Society and traced her ancestors back to the Mayflower.
Len died on December 10, 2015 and Faye is survived by her children, Susan Aubert and her husband, Richard, of Waltham, Lee Krawczyk and her husband, John, of Peabody and Robert R. Harvey and his wife, Nancy, of Battleground, Washington; her grandchildren who affectionately called her 'NanaNana", Cara Dalton, her husband, Joseph and their children, Joseph and Alice; Courtney Allia, her husband, Antonio and their children, Teresa and Antonio; and Robin Harvey; her step-grandchildren, Stefanie Linehan, her husband James, and their daughter, Bradley; and Matthew Krawczyk, his wife, Vanessa, and their daughter, Emily and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Robin Harvey and sister of the late Donald, Malcolm "Brent" and Charles "Winnie" Berry and Jean Gray.
Family and friends will honor and remember Faye's life by gathering for calling hours on Wednesday, June 1st, from 4 to 6 p.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham, where her Funeral Service will be held at 6 p.m. Burial will be private.
