Mr. Fenelus Chery, of Waltham, formerly of Lynn died at home on Thursday, May 21, 2020. He was 76.
Fenelus was born on May 6, 1944 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti a son of the late Altiverne and Terneli (Fenelus) Chery. Raised and educated in Haiti he immigrated to the United States in 1981 settling in Lynn. He moved to Waltham in 2005.
For over 30 years Fenelus worked in the laundry department at the Double Tree Hotel in Waltham before retiring.
He will be remembered as a man with a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed time off and taking vacations and in earlier years riding his motorcycle.
He was predeceased by his wife, Miracia (Lalane) Chery on September 20, 2007.
Fenelus leaves his children, Yves 'Junior' Chery and his wife, Dieumime Dure-Chery of Lynn, Emmanual Chery of Boston, Marie Carmel Chery of Haiti and Chrystne Chery of Boston; his sisters, Antoinette Morel of Dorchester and Luvin Chery of New York; 9 grandchildren; nieces & nephews.
Fenelus' family will gather privately in The Joyce Funeral Home followed by his burial in Mount Feake Cemetery.
