Mrs. Florence T. (Wong) Yuen, of Alpha, New Jersey, died on Saturday, September 9, 2017 in St. Luke's Warren Hospital in Phillipsburg, New Jersey. She was 95.
Florence was born in Boston on August 5, 1922, the daughter of the late Hop "Harry" and Quan (Shee) Wong. As a young woman she worked at her family's restaurant, the Nanking, in Waltham's Central Square and later worked as a bookkeeper and bank teller at Cambridge Savings Bank.
She was the wife of the late Edward Yuen and is survived by her children, Diana Mitros and her husband, Michael, of Bloomsbury, New Jersey, and Donald Yuen and his wife, Lisa, of Atlantic City, New Jersey; her granddaughter, Cassandra Mitros; her brothers, Edward Wong of Waltham and Bolton Wong of Framingham and also leaves many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Allan Wong, Francis Wong, Priscilla Lee and Clifford Wong.
Family and friends will honor and remember Florence's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, September 17th, from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 11 a.m. on Monday morning when her funeral service will be held. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
