Waltham – Mrs. Frances E. (Cox) Currie, of Waltham, died on Sunday, December 15th, 2013 in Mount Auburn Hospital, Cambridge. She was 90.
Frances was born in Waltham on May 11, 1923, a daughter of the late Thomas and Susan (O'Neil) Cox, and had been a lifelong resident. She worked as a homemaker which was a necessity in the Currie household of eight and when able, she loved to find a good book to enjoy.
She was the wife of the late George J. Currie and is survived by her children, Thomas F. Currie and Mark R. Currie both of Waltham, Susan M. Currie of Maryland, Ellen F. Currie of Waltham, Anne M. Shannon of Tennessee and Peter G. Currie of Indiana; her sister, Gertrude Cox of Waltham; five grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are private.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
