Waltham - Mrs. Frances (Goutras) Kopsiaftis, of Waltham, died Wednesday, November 7, 2007 in Maristhill Nursing Home, Waltham. She was 93. Born in Plaka, Athens, Greece a daughter of the late Theodore and Eugenia Goutras, Frances was a former owner and operator of family restaurants in Waltham for many years, The Log Cabin Restaurant located on Moody Street and the George Cross Diner on Trapelo Road. She was very involved at the Greek Orthodox Church (Taxiarchae) in Watertown, and enjoyed baking, cooking, and spending time with her family. Frances was also a past president for the Philoptochos Women’s Society at her church. Frances was the wife of the late John K. Kopsiaftis, mother of the late George J. Kopsiaftis, and sister of the late George Goutras and Athanasia Athanasiou. She leaves her daughter-in-law, Mary Kopsiaftis of Waltham; two grandchildren, Kristine Kopsiaftis of Delray Beach, Florida and Kenneth Kopsiaftis of Waltham and nieces and nephews in Athens, Greece. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services on Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Greek Orthodox Church,(Taxiarchae), 25 Bigelow Avenue, Watertown. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours will be held prior to the Service from 9 to 10 a.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham. Memorial donations may be made to the Greek Orthodox Church.
