Hudson, NH – Mrs. Frances M. (Harvey) Maher, of Hudson, New Hampshire, formerly of Waltham, died Monday, September 10, 2012 at her home. She was 85.
Frances was born in Waltham on October 20, 1926, a daughter of the late Francis A. and Nora A. (Leamy) Harvey, and had been a lifelong resident before moving to Hudson in 1992. She was a graduate of Waltham High School and until her retirement worked as a receptionist for the Pitney-Bowes Company in Waltham.
She was a lifelong baseball fan and long active with the Waltham Little Nipper's Baseball League. Fran was also talented in creating crafts out of ceramics. Her favorite times were spent with family, especially traveling on vacations together.
The wife of the late Paul B. Maher, she leaves her children, Paul 'P.J.' Maher and his wife, Mary, of Rockland, J. Michael Maher of Waltham, Mary F. Maher of Framingham and Noreen E. McCarthy and her husband, Robert, of Hudson, New Hampshire; her sister, Anne Louise Demirel of Tennessee; 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Frances was also the grandmother of the late Christopher Maher, a sister of the late Paul J. Harvey and step-daughter of the late Mary (Kelly) Harvey.
Family and friends will honor and remember Frances' life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, September 12th, from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 10 a.m. on Thursday morning when her funeral service will be held. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
