Waltham Mrs. Frances (Rapczynski) VanderWyk of Waltham died Monday, January 3, 2005 in Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 85. Born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, a daughter of the late Boleslaw and Jadwiga Rapczynski, she lived in Waltham since 1943. Mrs. VanderWyk was a devoted wife and mother whose time spent with her family was most special to her. She was also a longtime member of First Congregational Church in Waltham where she worked on many church activities. She was also a member and corporator of the Leland Home in Waltham and enjoyed bowling and gardening. She leaves her husband, Dr. Raymond W. VanderWyk; her children, Dr. James C. VanderWyk of Powder Springs, GA, Susan E. Silva of Bourne, and David A. VanderWyk of Norfolk; her grandchildren, Mark and Paul Silva, Brent, Kara, Blake and Kathryn VanderWyk; her great-grandson, Liam VanderWyk and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Frank, Joseph, Charles, and John Rapczynski. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in First Congregational Church, 730 Main Street, Waltham. Burial will be Friday in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 2:30 p.m. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte.20), Waltham.
