Waltham – Mr. Francis B. Clark, of Waltham, died Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Maples Nursing Home in Wrentham. He was 83.

Frank was born in Waltham on May 12, 1931, a son of the late Joseph T. and Mary J. (Qualters) Clark. He was a 1950 graduate of Waltham High School and after that served with the United States Army during the Korean War.

He retired in 1993 after a career working for both the Department of the Navy and the Department of the Air Force. He performed various special assignments, investigations and audits for both agencies. His knowledge of government procurement and property control requirements that he gained while working for the Raytheon Company led to his career in government.

He was a life member of the U.S. Naval Institute and life member of the Air Force Association. He had been a member the Massachusetts Organization of Engineers and Scientists and was a former member of American Legion Post No. 75 in Geneva, Illinois. Frank currently belonged to the Joseph F. Hill American Legion Post No. 156 in Waltham.

Frank lived for twelve years in St. Charles, Illinois before returning to Waltham three years ago. Before his move to Illinois he had lived for many years in Newton.

He leaves his children, Joanne M. Saegesser of Franklin, Mark J. Clark of Glendale Heights, Illinois, Diane M. Chapman of Geneva, Illinois and Keith D. Clark of Marlboro; five grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Frank was also a brother of the late William H., Robert E., John R., and Arthur J. Clark.

Family and friends will honor and remember Frank's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, November 9th from 2 to 5 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to the Blessed Sacrament Chapel at Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Committal services will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.

Memorial donations may be made to Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Research, c/o Development Office, 100 Cambridge Street, Suite 1300, Boston, MA 02114.
