Waltham – Mr. Francis J. Feeney, of Waltham, died Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 79.Frank was born in Cambridge on January 22, 1930 and was the son of the late Francis S. and Ivy (Perry) Feeney. He had been a Waltham resident for the past forty-eight years. Until his retirement he worked as a foreman for the New England Telephone Company. He was also a United States Army veteran of the Korean War.He was an avid fan of Boston sports, especially the Red Sox. Frank was an avid reader and possessed a fine talent for building and fixing things around the house.He leaves his wife of 54 years, Marion E. (Hamill) Feeney; his children, Francis J. Feeney, Jr. and his wife, Ann Marie, of Natick, Waltham Police Captain Donald M. Feeney and his wife, Cristina, of Waltham, Steven L. Feeney and his wife, Sandra, of Townsend, Cheryl M. Bastardi and her husband, Thomas, of Nashua, New Hampshire and Lynn D. Parsons and her husband, Roger, of Rowley; his sister, Diane Mahoney of Charlestown and 14 grandchildren.Family and friends will honor and remember Frank's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 12 noon on Thursday for his Graveside Service at Mount Feake Cemetery, 203 Prospect Street, Waltham.
