Waltham- Mr. Francis LaMacchia of Waltham died Friday January 29, 2010 at Saint Elizabeth's Medical Center in Brighton. He was 82. Frank was born January 28, 1928 in Watertown, a son of the late Carmello and Agatha ( Sacco) LaMacchia, he was self employed for many years for a dry cleaning business in Belmont. Frank had lived in Waltham since 1958 and had also served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Frank leaves his wife Mildred L. (Moore) LaMacchia, his children, Kevin F. LaMacchia and his wife Elaine of Revere, Robert F. LaMacchia and his wife Paulette of Billerica and Karen L. LaMacchia of Arlington, his grandchildren, Christopher, Anthony, and Nicholas, his brothers and sisters, John LaMacchia of Waltham, Salvatore LaMacchia of Sherborn, Carmelo LaMacchia, Jr of Millis, Nora Venti of Hartford, Connecticut, Anna Harrington of Waltham and many nieces and nephews. Frank was also the brother of the late Anthony LaMacchia, Joseph LaMacchia, Carmela LaMacchia, Domenica Caruso and Mary Donovan. Family and friends will honor and remember Frank's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 10 a.m. on Tuesday before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown. Memorial donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. Church Street Station, P.O. 780, New York, NY 10008-0780.
