Francis E. Steckel

Waltham - Mr. Francis E. Steckel, of Waltham, died Friday, July 7, 2006 at Lahey Clinic in Burlington. He was 83. Born in Lynn, a son of the late Francis and Julia (Watman) Steckel, he worked for forty-five years as a Medical Illustrator at Lahey Clinic in Burlington until his retirement. Mr. Steckel lived in Waltham for the past forty-six years and was a World War II veteran serving with the United States Navy. He was the husband of the late Helen M. (Mahoney) Steckel. He leaves one son, Brian F. Steckel, M.D. and his wife, Brid of Albany, New York; one daughter, Kathleen Steckel of Waltham; one granddaughter, Sarah Steckel and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
