Waltham Mr. Francis J. Tierney of Waltham died Monday, March 15, 2004 at Maristhill Nursing Home, Waltham. He was 92. A son of the late John P. and Nora A. (Mooney) Tierney, he was a lifelong resident of Waltham. Until his retirement, Mr. Tierney worked as a weapons mechanic for the U.S. Navy at the Boston Naval Shipyard. He was a member of the Waltham Senior Citizens Club, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and he had been a member of Saint Jude Church Holy Name Society and the Waltham Knights of Columbus. He leaves his wife, Irene M. (Dupuis) Tierney; his children, David F. Tierney of Lowell and Marion E. Tierney of Waltham; his grandchildren, Stephen K., Peter F. and Catherine C. Tierney; one great-grandchild, Dylan D. Tierney and many nieces and nephews. He was also a brother of the late Thomas H., James C., Robert A., Mary E. and J. Paul Tierney. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 9:30 a.m. Thursday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours are Wednesday 5 to 8 p.m.
