Marlborough – Mr. Franco F. Davoli, of Marlborough, died Monday, June 18, 2012 at his home. He was 53.
Franco was born on December 1, 1958 in Calabria, Italy, a son of Vincenzina (Sinopoli) Davoli of Waltham and the late Giuseppe Davoli. He emigrated with his family to Venezuela as an infant and to the United States in 1971, settling in Waltham. He graduated from Waltham High School in 1976 and had been a Marlborough resident for the past twenty-three years.
Franco was the assistant facilities director for the Massachusetts State Archives Center in Dorchester and before that worked for many years with the state treasurer's office. Franco was a passionate golfer and played every chance he got at courses in and around Marlborough.
He leaves his wife, Noreen M. (Glynn) Davoli; his children, Steven Eyssallenne and his wife, Sherry, of Billerica, Benjamin Davoli of Framingham, Franco Davoli, Jr. of Brighton and Melanie Davoli of Marlborough; his granddaughter, Angelina Eyssallenne; his mother, Vincenzina (Sinopoli) Davoli of Waltham and his brother, Renato Davoli and his wife, Mary, of Waltham.
Franco was also the son of the late Giuseppe Davoli and a brother of the late Franca Davoli.
Family and friends will honor and remember Franco's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday, June 21st, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9:30 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect Street, Marlborough where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Marlborough.
Memorial donations may be made to Massachusetts General Hospital c/o Development Office, 165 Cambridge Street, Suite 600, Boston, MA 02114 to support the research under the direction of Dr. Alice Shaw whose work focuses on discovering new molecular targets and therapies that halt lung cancer.
