Freda S. Burke

Waltham – Mrs. Freda S. (Pennucci) Burke, of Waltham, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008 in the Emerald Bay Manor Nursing Home in Cumberland, Rhode Island. She was 85. Born in Roxbury, Mrs. Burke was a graduate of Brighton High School. She had lived in Waltham since 1963. Mrs. Burke was the wife of the late Albion E. Burke and the daughter of the late Artillio and Elvira (Mutti) Pennucci. She is survived by her sons, Steven E. Burke of Medway, Robert A. Burke of Franklin, and Richard W. Burke of Brighton; her grandchildren, Michael J., Jennifer, Jared S., Christopher R., Cheryl A., Lisa N., Michelle L., and Matthew R.; her great-grandchildren, Owen and Cassie; her sister, Flora Lupo of Newton, and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Saturday at 8 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham, at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Holyhood Cemetery, Brookline. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
