Waltham - Mr. Frederick J. Cadigan, of Waltham, died Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 75. Born in Brighton, a son of the late Frederick K. and Katherine H. (Ring) Cadigan, Fred moved to Waltham forty-five years ago. He was a 1950 graduate of English High School in Boston and served as a sergeant with the United States Army during the Korean War. Until his retirement, he worked for twenty-one years as the veteran's representative for the Division of Employment and Training at their Waltham office. Before that he worked for General Motors and also as the business agent for SEIU Local 254. Fred was a member of the Lexington Elks and enjoyed fishing and reading and had a special interest war time history. He leaves his wife, Jane (Jordan) Cadigan; three daughters, Anne C. Dunlap and her husband, Frederick, of Dallas, Texas, Leslie C. Hunter of Burlington and Jean C. Guyette and her husband, Chris, of Franklin, Maine; his grandchildren, Kevin Hunter, Chelsea Dunlap, Kirsten Hunter, Tyler Dunlap, Kathryn Dunlap and Amy Hunter; his sisters, Kathleen Allison of Stuart, Florida and Louise Cadigan of Boston; his former son-in-law, Richard C. Hunter of Woburn and many nieces and nephews. He was also a brother of the late Patricia Sharpe. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 9:30 a.m. Friday, January 18, from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be held at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, January 22, in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
