Gail E. McGuire

Weston – Ms. Gail E. McGuire, of Weston, formerly of Waltham and Ashland, died in her home on April 29th, 2013. She was 79.

Gail was born in Waltham on November 12, 1933, a daughter of the late William and Mary (Larkin) McGuire. She graduated from Boston College Nursing School in 1955 and later earned her Masters of Education from UMass Boston.

She was the director of the VNA in Waltham for over twenty-five years. She was a member of the Waltham Board of Health, The Rotary Club and the Boston College Alumni Association.

She was the sister of the late William McGuire and Sheila Monahan.

She leaves her nieces and nephews, Lisa Monahan and her husband, Andy Levine, of Newton Highlands, Gail Monahan of Dorchester, Mike Monahan and his wife, Heather, and David Monahan and his wife, Cindy, of Monument, CO; her cousins, Dr. Henry Casey, Deidre Casey, Paul Larkin, Peter Larkin and Ned Larkin; her grandnieces and grandnephews, Kim Jenkins, Kristen King, Layla Monahan, Kaelise Monahan and Max and Eli Levine.

Family and friends will honor and remember Gail's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, May 3rd from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday morning in Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
