Acton – Mr. Geoffrey S. Bourque, of Acton and formerly of Waltham, died on February 14, 2014. He was 45.
Geoff was born in Olean, New York, on September 25, 1968. He graduated from Waltham High School and after working for a number of years he enlisted in the Army. He was a loyal son, brother, uncle and friend to countless. He had a heart of gold and an affinity with children, often being the 'go to' for his eight nieces and nephews. If anyone needed a helping hand Geoff was there. He loved to spend time in Maine, especially at Hills Beach in Biddeford. He was a devoted Boston sports fan and his favorite teams were the Patriots and Red Sox.
He is survived by his parents, Eugene B. and Barbara A. (Scala) Bourque of Brownfield, Maine; his siblings, Brian K. Bourque and his wife, Deborah, of Watertown, Kevin J. Bourque, and his wife, Catherine, of Apex, North Carolina, Patricia N. Bourque of Litchfield, New Hampshire, Angela M. Bourque of Biddeford, Maine and Jennifer A. Bourque of Brownfield, Maine; his nieces and nephews, Paige, Colin, Samuel, Emily, Danielle, Crystal, Dylan and Monica and his former wife Deborah (Ranger) Bourque.
He was also the son of the late Judyth A. (Woods) Bourque who died on December 20, 1977.
Family and friends will honor and remember Geoff's life by gathering for calling hours on Sunday, February 23rd, from 2 to 5 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
