George P. Doucette

Waltham - Mr. George P. Doucette, of Waltham, died Monday, April 17, 2006 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 83. Born in Margaree, Nova Scotia, Canada, a son of the late Peter and Lucy (Chaisson) Doucet, George worked as a Union Blaster for Hemphill Drilling and Blasting in Waltham for many years. He was a member of the Massachusetts Laborers Local #88, The Loyal Order of Moose, Waltham Lodge #1018, and the French American Victory Club in Waltham. He was also an avid fisherman. George was the husband of the late Carlena M. (Evans) Doucette, father of the late Kevin G. Doucette and Daniel S. Doucette, brother of the late Joseph Doucette, and step-son of the late Bridget Doucet. He leaves his children, Bruce M. Doucette of Franklin, Brian P. Doucette, Barbara J. Doucette, Carla J. Doucette, and Susan E. Doucette, all of Waltham, Betsy M. Doucette-Kane of Watertown, Andrew J. Doucette of Alabama, Peter F. Doucette of Hopedale, and Steven C. Doucette of Pennsylvania; three brothers, Albert Doucet of California, Peter Doucet of Watertown and Victor Doucet of Waltham; three sisters, Pauline Mills of Roslindale, Jeanette Cooper of New Mexico, and Lucille Hooper of Maine; sixteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many nieces, nephews and devoted friends. The Funeral will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20) Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours will be held Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Greater Waltham Association for Retarded Citizens (GWARC), 56 Chestnut Street, Waltham, MA 02453-4033.
