Waltham - Mr. George A. Ferry, Sr. of Waltham, died Sunday November 27, 2005 at Meadow Green Nursing Home, Waltham. He was 85. Born and raised in East Cambridge, he was a Waltham resident for 48 years. George served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army. He was a master electrician and a member of Boston’s I.B.E.W. Local 103. He worked for Broadway Electric of Dorchester for many years and later for E.H. Hinds of Watertown. George was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady’s Church in Waltham and he was a member of the Lexington Elks. He enjoyed golf and bowling and was an avid fan of Boston professional sports teams and professional golf, tennis and boxing. He was the brother of the late Arthur, John, Joseph and Anthony Ferry. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rose M. (Calabro) Ferry; 3 sons, George A. Ferry, Jr. and his wife Fern of Windham, New Hampshire, William P. Ferry and Patricia of Naples, Florida and Kenneth M. Ferry and his wife Janet of Acton; 5 granchildren, Adam, Aimee, Kristen, Danielle and Taylor and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be offered Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday morning from 8:30 to 10 a.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham. Memorial donations may be made to the Italian Home for Children, 1125 Centre Street, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130.
