Weston – Mr. George A. Garrity of Weston died Friday, February 3 , 2006 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 87. Born and raised in Belmont, a son of the late George A. and Martha (Knox) Garrity he had lived in Weston for the past 50 years and spent summers on Cape Cod. Until his retirement, George was Vice-President of Inland Express Trucking Company. George enjoyed golf, traveling, Big Band Music and was an avid baseball and football fan. He was also a World War II history enthusiast who served with the United States Navy during the war. He was the husband of the late Dorothy M. (Bystrom) Garrity, brother of the late Francis Garrity and Jeanne E. Steffenhagen, and brother-in-law of the late Martha A. Rubado. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Mary E. Brown of Waltham and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Julia’s Church, 374 Boston Post Road, Weston at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Weston. Visiting hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Maristhill Nursing Home, 66 Newton Street, Waltham, MA 02453.
