Mr. George H. Kimball, Jr., of Waltham, died Monday, January 29, 2024 in Lahey Hospital in Burlington. He was 85.
George was born in Somerville on March 20, 1938, a son of the late George H., Sr., and Jeannette H. (Blanchette) Kimball. Raised in Waltham, he had owned and operated Central Welding Company for many years. He served honorably in the United States Navy.
He was a member of the Joseph F. Hill American Legion Post No. 156 as well as the Waltham Triad Lodge and Valley of Boston Scottish Rite and the Aleppo Shriners.
In addition to his beloved wife, Betty “Joyce” (Adams) Kimball, he was predeceased by his brother and sister, the late Robert Kimball and Jeanne France.
He leaves his children, Tamela J. Pappas (Nicholas) of Waltham, Kimberly M. Malkofsky of Winter Garden, Florida, and George H. Kimball, III (Jennifer) of Waltham; his grandchildren, Cathryn and Jonathan Pappas, Lauren Silva (Eddie), Jeffrey and Haley Malkofsky, and Gabrielle and Rebecca Kimball; his great-grandchildren, Sophia and Victoria Silva and many nieces, nephews, and their families.
A Masonic Funeral will be held on Monday, February 5th at 3 p.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham, followed by visitation until 5 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, February 6th at 11 a.m. in Mount Feake Cemetery, 203 Prospect Street, Waltham.
