Waltham – Mr. George J. Noe, of Waltham, died Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at his home. He was 68.
George was born in Boston on February 12, 1943, a son of the late James F. and Helen M. (Sullivan) (Noe) York. He was raised and educated in Waltham where he had been a lifelong resident. Until his retirement he worked as a computer technician for Baystate Computer and later at BayBank, both in Waltham.
He served with the U. S. Army National Guard during the Vietnam War and had been a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge No. 1018, in Waltham. George was a loyal Bruins and Patriots fan and spent many Saturday nights with his buddies enjoying greyhound racing. George's greatest joy was looking forward to holidays, birthdays and special occasions spent with his large extended family.
George leaves his sisters and brothers, Diane Keenan and her husband, Thomas, of Billerica, Timothy Noe of Denver, Colorado, Shaun Noe of Des Moines, Iowa, Susan Sommer and her husband, Richard, of Maynard and A. Henry York of Des Moines, Iowa and his nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was also a brother of the late Carolyn Morse, Jonathan Noe and Terrence York.
Family and friends will honor and remember George's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, December 26th, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 11 a.m. Tuesday morning when his funeral service will be held. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
